Workers Killed On Vat Of Whey

Two workers died when a fellow worker fell into a vat of whey, a cheese byproduct, and they attempted to go to his rescue.

Twin Falls County Coroner Gene Turley identified the victims on Friday as Gary Scott Phillips, 32, Wendell and Vernon Dale Moore, 32, Paul. The bodies were taken to Magic Valley Regional Medical Center for examination.

Investigators said the accident occurred at Green River Dairy west of Buhl Thursday night.

Investigators said the men were employees of Carne, Inc., and were attempting to repair a 5,500-gallon whey tank.

Skip Teske, 25, of Eden, was hospitalized.
