U.S. Tops Ireland On Late Goal

Claudio Reyna scored in the 75th minute to give the United States a 2-1 victory over Ireland in the U.S. Cup ‘96 exhibition soccer tournament.

The United States, 5-1 this year, broke a 1-1 tie when Reyna fought off an Irish defender to get his foot on a cross from Eric Wynalda and put the ball past Ireland goalkeeper Shay Given.
