Ccs Graduation Begins

The Community Colleges of Spokane will graduate 2,500 students in commencement exercises this week. Students in the culinary arts and administrative assistant programs at Spokane Community College were the first to graduate Tuesday evening.

At 3 p.m. today, students in liberal arts at SCC will get diplomas at the Walter S. Johnson sports center, the site of all SCC ceremonies. That will be followed by a 7 p.m. commencement for automotive technology students at SCC.

Thursday’s commencements at SCC include health sciences at 3 p.m. and fluid power technology at 7 p.m.

Spokane Falls Community College will hold ceremonies for fine arts and liberal arts starting at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the college gymnasium.

Graduates getting certificates for high school completion and English as a second language will graduate at a 7 p.m. ceremony at SFCC’s gymnasium.

In addition, 18 high school students in the Running Start program will receive high school diplomas and associate degrees during the commencements.
