Connell Man Dies In Head-On Crash

A Connell, Wash., man died in Grant County on Thursday when he wrecked his pickup, sheriff’s deputies reported.

Daniel Lech, 54, failed to make a curve as he was driving west on Road 8 Southeast about 2 p.m.

His 1990 Mitsubishi pickup crossed the center line and hit an eastbound 1988 Chevrolet pickup head-on.

Lech, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene. His son, 11-year-old Jason Lech, sustained a broken leg in the wreck. The boy was wearing his seat belt.

The driver of the Chevrolet, Scott Murray, 45, of Moses Lake, fractured both feet in the collision. Murray also was wearing his seat belt. , DataTimes
