Mcdonald’s Single Lifts Royals

Austin McDonald singled to score Bill Graffis with the game-ending run as the Royals defeated visiting Pullman 4-3 in the first of two American Legion baseball games Saturday at Jackson Field.

Graffis had tied the game with a two-run double. K.C. Becker, Bob Stoner and Jeremy Fox led Pullman to a 17-6 win in the nightcap.

Also at Jackson Field, the North Stars swept two from the Mission Valley (Mont.) Mariners, 8-2 and 9-1.

Grant Reeves had a three-run home run in the opener, while Matt Armitage had a two-run shot and four RBIs in the nightcap.
