Five Killed When Truck Rear-Ends Passenger Car

Associated Press

A tractor-trailer with faulty brakes plowed into a car stopped on the side of a highway, setting the vehicle on fire and killing three young children and their grandparents. Three other relatives were injured.

The truck driver was charged with vehicular homicide. Investigators didn’t know why the truck was driving in the breakdown lane where the car was stopped. There were no skid marks, troopers said.
