Holocaust Memorial Opens In Frankfurt
Frankfurt opened a Holocaust memorial on Sunday in the city’s Jewish cemetery, one of Europe’s largest.
The 1,000-foot wall lists the 11,134 Frankfurt Jews killed by the Nazis. The memorial - on the site of a medieval Jewish ghetto - includes a cube of stones from the foundation of a synagogue that the Nazis destroyed in 1938.
About 6,000 Jews live in Frankfurt, home to 30,000 Jews before World War II.
