2 Hurt When Gun Fired Into Crowd

From Staff Reports

Two men were injured early Sunday when someone fired a gun into a crowd of people in north Spokane, police said.

The shooting occurred about 1:30 a.m. in the parking lot of the Albertsons grocery store at 7810 N. Division.

A large group of people was milling around when a confrontation broke out between two men in a car and someone in the crowd, police said.

Witnesses told police at least one shot was fired from the car as it drove away.

Timothy L. Olsen, 20, of Cheney, was hit in the hand and another 20-year-old man was hit in the abdomen. The second man asked police to withhold his name.

Olsen was treated and released from a local hospital. The other man was admitted. Police did not release his condition.

No one was arrested, but police have the names of the two men they think were in the car.
