Volunteers Sought For Trail Repair

Hikers, horse riders, motorcyclists and mountain bikers are invited to join Forest Service volunteers Saturday, June 29, to make repairs to the South Chilco Mountain Trail.

The National Recreation Trail needs improvements to a mile and a half of eroding trail, according to the Forest Service.

The trail is located on the Fernan Ranger District, approximately 14 miles northeast of Coeur d’Alene.

The Forest Service has a $23,000 grant to rehabilitate the trail. The work party will leave Fernan Ranger Station at 8 a.m. , DataTimes
