Cigar May Race In 3 Weeks

Compiled From Wire Services

Cigar likely will pursue his 16th straight victory in three weeks in a special race created for him at Arlington International Race Course, the New York Times reported today.

The newspaper said Cigar will resume serious workouts today or Saturday after missing three weeks because of injury. If all goes well, he will be pointed toward a $1 million race outside Chicago the weekend of July 13-14.

Cigar is bidding to tie Citation’s modern-day North American record of 16 consecutive wins.
