Trails Report

North Cascades, east slope

Ranger District contacted: Methow Valley, Winthrop office (509) 996-4000. Snow level: 4,000-6,000 feet, 4 feet of snow at Harts Pass. Notes: Robinson Creek trail is open and hikable, though there may be some winter storm debris down on the trail. The route is snow-free nearly to Robinson Pass. Most trails in the Pasayten Wilderness are hikable for their first several miles.

Alpine Lakes, east slope

Ranger District contacted: Leavenworth, (509) 782-1413. Snow level: 5,500 feet, some deep valley patches. Notes: Dayhikers can enjoy the Enchantment Basin trails by merely picking up a self-issued permit at the trailheads. The Ingalls Creek Trail and Snow Creek Trail both offer 10- to 12-mile dayhike opportunities in beautiful alpine areas.

South Cascades, east slope

Ranger District contacted: Naches, (509) 653-2205. Snow level: 4,500 to 5,000 feet with some patches lower. Notes: The American Ridge Trail No. 958 beginning near Cedar Springs campgrounds off SR 410 climbs through young forests and flowers but dips under snow around 4 miles, but good views are available on this snow-free section. xxxx
