Man Drowns In Sprague Lake

A 23-year-old man drowned in Sprague Lake during the weekend, Lincoln County authorities reported.

Trevis T. Alsup of Spokane, apparently was boating by himself in the popular fishing lake west of Spokane when he either fell or jumped out of the boat about 8:30 p.m. Saturday, sheriff’s deputies said.

Another fisherman heard a splash and saw Alsup slip under the water.

Rescue divers found the victim’s body in about 12 feet of water nearly two hours later. The man was not wearing a flotation vest, and there were no life jackets in his boat, deputies said.
