Oscar De La Hoya will make the first defense of the WBC super lightweight title against No. 1 challenger Miguel Angel Gonzalez of Mexico on Sept. 14, promoters said.
De La Hoya captured the title from Julio Cesar Chavez, who is tentatively listed on the same card against a fighter yet to be selected, according to Dan Goosen of Top Rank.
Gonzalez, who is 41-0, held the lightweight title before moving into the 140-pound division. De La Hoya is 22-0.
