Miami Woes Mount
Off-the-field troubles continue for the University of Miami football program as two of the five players suspended from the team this week face criminal charges.
“It’s just something that the team and the athletic department are trying to put behind them and to move forward,” Miami sports information director Bob Burda said.
He spoke less than a day after Hurricanes coach Butch Davis indefinitely suspended Derrick Ham pending the outcome of a police investigation. That made the 21-year-old the second team member suspended in a matter of days for allegedly beating up a girlfriend.
