Hayden Sewer Project Goes Ahead
Hayden’s $2.5 million sewer project will go ahead as planned, despite the objections of some of the 300 residents who will pay for it.
The Hayden City Council unanimously approved the project Wednesday night after more than 2-1/2 hours of testimony. About 70 people attended.
“The opposition was to the cost, not to putting in the sewer,” said Hayden City Administrator Bob Croffoot. He said installation of the 4-1/2 miles of sewer line will begin this spring. The property owners will pay for $1.5 million; the rest will be paid for by a $1 million state grant.
Residents protested that the $4,525 to $5,525 cost for each lot was too much.
