Burnell Hill Spokane

Visitation for Burnell Hill, 65, is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Riplinger Funeral Home. Service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.

Mr. Hill died Tuesday at home.

He was born in Kalispell, Mont.

He and his wife, Joan, moved to Spokane in 1953.

Mr. Hill was a truck driver for 39 years and drove for Consolidated Freightways and Matlack Tank Lines.

He was a member of Eagles Lodge No. 2, Teamsters Union Local No. 690 and the Retired Teamsters Association.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Joan; two daughters, Debbie Kenny of Nine Mile Falls and Belinda “Bindy” Groh of Spokane; two sons, Jeff Hill of Bellevue, Wash., and Scott Hill of Issaquah, Wash.; one brother, Donald Hill of Hamilton, Mont.; three stepsisters, Pearl Shepherd of Chester, Mont., Ruby Glee of Galata, Mont., and Arlene Shepherd of Kalispell, Mont.; and 11 grandchildren.

Grant ‘Cowboy’ Kreymer Diamond Lake, Wash.

Service for Grant “Cowboy” Kreymer, 70, will be at 2 p.m. today at Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport, Wash. Burial will follow at Newport Cemetery.

Mr. Kreymer, who died Wednesday, was born in Libby, Mont.

He had worked for the Postal Service.

During World War II, he served in the Army.

He had lived at Diamond Lake, Wash., for the past 15 years, after moving from Spokane.

Survivors include one daughter, Kahleen Stamatz of Spokane; one brother, Allen Kreymer of Newport, Wash.; two sisters, Dorothy Middleton of Canby, Ore., and Athena Smith of Newport.

Yvonne Davis Coeur d’Alene

Memorial service for Yvonne N. Davis, 55, will be today at 11 a.m. at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Funeral Home. Mrs. Davis, who was born in Santa Ana, Calif., died Saturday from lung cancer.

She grew up in Santa Ana, where she graduated from high school. She moved to North Idaho in 1969.

She moved back to Orange County before returning to the Coeur d’Alene area in 1992.

Mrs. Davis enjoyed hot rod runs, square dancing and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was a member of the National Street Rod Association and loved her 1932 Ford sedan.

Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Wade; one son, Jeff Davis of Hayden Lake, Idaho; two daughters, Janet Miller, and Joann Davis of Coeur d’Alene; one stepdaughter, Debra Moreno of California; one brother, Ronald Davis of Spokane; two grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.

Martha Laab Coeur d’Alene

Service for Martha Mae Laab, 87, will be today at 2 p.m. at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene. Burial will follow at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Laab, who was born in Michigan, died Sunday.

She moved to the Coeur d’Alene area as a young child and was a longtime resident. She worked as a seamstress for local dry cleaning establishments and the J.C. Penney Co.

Mrs. Laab enjoyed cooking, sewing and dancing, and was a member of the Coeur d’Alene Ladies Eagles Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Adam Wright and Donald Laab.

Survivors include three sons, Duane Wright of Dalton Gardens, Idaho, Vernon Wright of Spokane and Barton Wright of Colorado; one daughter, Shirley Sorbel of Coeur d’Alene; two brothers, Walter McNeil of Hayden, Idaho, and John McNeil of Arizona; 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Eleanor Wieber Colton, Wash.

Rosary for Eleanor Frances Wieber, 87, is planned for 7:30 p.m. today at St. Gall’s Catholic Church in Colton. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial to follow at the Colton Catholic Cemetery. Kimball Funeral Home of Pullman is in charge of arrangements.

Miss Wieber, a longtime Colton resident, died Tuesday at home.

She was born in Colton.

She graduated from Northwest Business College in Spokane in 1929 and worked in Spokane for a short time before she returned to Colton.

In Colton she worked for 43 years for Security State Bank, which later became Old National Bank.

She was a member of St. Gall’s Catholic Church and the Altar Society.

She is survived by one brother, John Wieber of Spokane.

Lexie Hordemann Spokane

Vigil Service for Lexie M. Hordemann, 94, is set for 7 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Mass is planned for 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1503 W. Dean.

Born in Colton, Wash., Mrs. Hordemann died Wednesday.

She operated a grocery store and had lived in Spokane for 57 years.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

Her husband, Ernest Hordemann, died in 1959.

She is survived by three sons, John Hordemann of Cheney, and James and Gary Hordemann, both of Spokane; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Vernon Young Chattaroy

Service for Vernon Arthur Young, 78, is planned for 10:30 a.m. today at Lauer Funeral Home in Deer Park. Entombment will be at Greenwood Memorial Park in San Diego.

Mr. Young, who died Monday, was born in Howard, S.D.

He worked as an equipment manufacturer for Browning Rifle.

He moved to the Milan/Chattaroy area more than 11 years ago, after he retired, to live near his son.

His wife, Esther Young, preceded him in death.

Mr. Young is survived by one son, Russell Young of Chattaroy; one daughter, Barbara Criket of Spring Valley, Calif., and several grandchildren.

Lois Olson Mica

Graveside service for Lois J. Olson, 74, will be at 1 p.m. today at Fairview Cemetery in Rockford. Schanzenbach Funeral Home in Fairfield is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Olson, who died Sunday, was born in Lodi, Neb.

She had worked in manufacturing for Quickie Box and was a member of the Greenacres Christian Church.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Warren Olson; one daughter, Nadine Olson of Stillwater, Okla.; two sons, Dean Olson of Snohomish, Wash., and Mel Olson of Spokane; three brothers, one sister and three grandchildren.

Joseph Fay Spokane

Memorial service for Joseph R. Fay, 79, will be at 10 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church HennesseySmith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Fay, who died Tuesday, was born in Montclair, N.J.

He graduated from Fordham University in New York City in 1940 and married Mae Degnan in East Orange, N.J., in 1941.

He served in the Navy during World War II in the South Pacific and later served in the naval reserve.

In 1955 his family moved to Spokane where he worked as a self-employed management consultant for various companies for 15 years. He also worked for Diamond Match Co. as a controller for 12 years.

He is survived by his wife; one son, Joseph Fay Jr., of Federal Way, Wash.; three daughters, Elaine Tyrie, Joanne Norisada and Catherine Fay, all of Spokane; one brother, Paul Fay of California; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Thelma Skinner Spokane

Private cremation was held for Thelma Marie Skinner, 90.

Born in Clearwater, Idaho, Mrs. Skinner died Feb. 16.

She had lived in Spokane for 52 years and was a homemaker. She and her husband, Harold, had a home on Lake Kilbrennen, near Troy, Mont., where they spent several years.

Her husband, Harold Skinner, preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sisters, Alma Mihalick of Coeur d’Alene and Clara Melis of Keizer, Ore., four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Helen Coffey Spokane

Memorial service for Helen P. Coffey, 79, will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Sunset Mausoleum Chapel at Fairmount Memorial Park. Burial will follow. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Coffey, who died Sunday, was born in Seligman, Ariz.

She married Harvey Coffey in 1935. They moved from Seligman to Bonners Ferry, Idaho, in 1946 and to Spokane in 1948.

They lived in Spokane until 1976, when they moved to Sun City, Ariz. She returned to Spokane in 1992.

She had worked for Jay Hogle and Co., Good Body and Co. and Dean Witter.

Her husband died in 1994.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Coffey and Melissa Simpson, both of Spokane; one brother, Gene Pearson of Sun City; one sister, Ruth Hodges of Mayer, Ariz.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Imperia ‘Peps’ LaLonde Spokane

Service for Imperia M. “Peps” (Forlano) LaLonde, 56, is set for 1 p.m. today at Holy Cross Cemetery Chapel. Burial will follow. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. LaLonde died Tuesday.

She was born in Philadelphia.

She served in the Air Force and also was a religion instructor. Mrs. LaLonde had multiple sclerosis and spent 16 of her 21 years in Spokane living in area nursing homes.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Kenneth LaLonde; three daughters, Peria Duncan, Eileen Morris and Phyllis Teter, all of Spokane; one sister in Philadelphia and four grandchildren.

William ‘Willy’ Bussard Spokane

Visitation for William Cleon “Willy” Bussard, 27, is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. today at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home. Service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Riverside Memorial Park.

Mr. Bussard died Tuesday form complications associated with cystic fibrosis. He was born in Pullman.

He graduated from University High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in computer information systems from Eastern Washington University.

He worked as a computer programmer at Huntwood Industries until poor health forced him to leave.

Mr. Bussard was a member of Pines Baptist Church. He taught Sunday school and sang in the choir and vocal ensemble.

He is survived by his parents, Bill and Carol Bussard of Spokane; one sister, Shelley Bussard of Bremerton; and his grandmother, Esther Anderson of Spokane.
