Williams Late Jumper Downs UW

Associated Press

Pac-10

Corey Williams sank a 12-footer with 21 seconds left Sunday to give No. 11 Arizona a 67-65 victory over Washington in a Pacific-10 Conference game in Seattle.

Miles Simon paced the Wildcats (23-5 overall, 12-4 Pac-10) with 24 points. His spinning 14-footer with 2:29 left gave the Wildcats a 65-63 lead, but Bryant Boston’s offensive putback off a missed 3-pointer tied it with 53 seconds remaining.

After an Arizona timeout with 30.6 seconds left, Reggie Geary drove to take the last shot, but passed off to a wide-open Williams, who scored the winning basket with one second left on the shot clock.

The loss probably cost the Huskies (15-10, 8-8) any chances of making the NCAA Tournament when the field of 64 is announced next Sunday. Playing its final regular-season home game, Washington finished 12-3 at Hec Edmundson Pavilion.
