Raiders To Settle In

Compiled From Wire Services

Hoping to satisfy concerns over the club’s drawn-out return to Oakland, Calif., Raiders owner Al Davis said he expects the team to complete relocation of its operations by mid-June.

“I want to be here and we will be here,” Davis said.

Davis said decisions are imminent on both the location of a training camp and team headquarters.

Free-agent wide receiver Quinn Early, who formerly played with the New Orleans Saints, agreed to a four-year, $8.8 million contract with the Buffalo Bills.

The Cleveland city council examined a proposed stadium deal involving the NFL, but gave no indication whether approval was imminent.

The Plain Dealer reported the 21-member council was lacking the 14 votes needed to approve the agreement struck last month between the league and Mayor Michael White.
