Spokane Public Works Committee

Committee members will discuss the six-year programs for water, sewer and street repairs. They also will talk about bike, rollerblade and skateboard prohibition signs for downtown.

Spokane City Council

Monday, 3 p.m. citizen briefing, lower-level conference room;

The council will consider adopting a pedestrian/bikeways plan for Spokane and a “mixed-use residential district” for the Manito/Cannon Hill neighborhood.

Spokane Area Private Industry Council

Lair Student Center, Spokane Community Colleges, 1810 N. Greene

The council will discuss the 1996 budget and the 1996-97 job training plan.

Spokane Regional Transportation Council

Community Room in the east end of University City Shopping Center, Sprague and University

The council is hosting a workshop to discuss possible forms of high-capacity transportation in the Valley. Among the possibilities are carpool lanes on Interstate 90, lanes dedicated to buses and a light rail system.

Spokane City Plan Commission

The commission will hear testimony on Sacred Heart Medical Center’s plan to build a skywalk across McClellan Street between 8th and 9th avenues.
