Man Charged In Rape, Abduction Of Baby Girl

A 20-year-old man was charged with raping and beating a 1-year-old girl, and assaulting her 15-year-old mother while holding them in his home for four days, police said.

Nedrick Hogan was arrested Thursday and remained in jail Saturday under $120,000 bail.

The baby, who wasn’t being publicly identified, suffered a broken leg, second and third-degree burns on her right leg and stomach, genital trauma and welts, said police spokeswoman Lt. M.A. Thornton.

Thornton said the 15-year-old had gone to Hogan’s house about 5 p.m. Sunday to have sex, taking her baby. Hogan would not let them leave until the teenager escaped Thursday and her mother took her and the baby to the emergency room, police said.
