Magic Cracks Home-Court Win Record

Associated Press

NBA

The Orlando Magic set an NBA record for consecutive home victories Sunday, beating the Phoenix Suns 122-106 for their 39th straight win at Orlando Arena.

The Magic improved to 32-0 at home this season despite having to play most of the second and third quarters without Shaquille O’Neal, who was in early foul trouble.

The All-Star center returned at the start of the fourth quarter and scored 15 of his team-high 25 points to help Orlando break open a close game. The Magic made 24 of 26 free throws in the second half and outscored the Suns 36-22 in the last period.

Nick Anderson scored 24 points and Anfernee Hardaway narrowly missed a triple-double with 20 points, eight rebounds and 14 assists.
