Three Men Indicted In Smuggling Plot

From Staff And Wire Reports

A federal grand jury here has indicted a Whatcom County man and two Canadians in a conspiracy to launder money and smuggle drugs and guns across the Washington state-British Columbia border.

Indicted last week were Austin C. Markusen, 20, of Birch Bay and Andre William Wright, 31, and Timothy Murphy, 21, both of Port Coquitlam, British Columbia.

The indictments come out of a 3-1/2-year investigation by Royal Canadian Mounted Police and U.S. federal agents dubbed Project Eyespy. The project include a sting operation that resulted in the arrests of 150 people.
