Another Business Robbed At Gunpoint

From Staff And Wire Reports

A Coeur d’Alene department store on Tuesday became the latest victim in a string of unsolved Kootenai County robberies.

A man with a gun robbed Kmart at 201 W. Neider Ave at about 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, according to a Coeur d’Alene police report.

The man walked up to a cashier and at first pretended to buy a pack of white socks and Wrigley’s gum. When the cashier opened the till, the robber pulled up his jacket, showing a revolver and demanding cash.

The robber then left with the money.

Five other businesses have been robbed this year. Coeur d’Alene police suspect that one or two people are responsible because the description of the robber and his methods have been similar in each case.

The suspect in Tuesday’s robbery is described as a white male, about six feet tall and 150-170 pounds with short dark hair, dark eyes and a goatee. He is estimated to be 23 or 24 years old and was wearing a black baseball hat, a waist-length jacket and striped brown and green shirt.

Anyone with information regarding the robberies is asked to call the Coeur d’Alene Police Department at (208) 769-2320. , DataTimes
