Recruiting Letter Withheld

Compiled From Wire Services

A high school athletic director withheld a college recruiting letter from a black student, and two other athletes say he did the same to them. Larry Delbridge acknowledged to a newspaper he had withheld an Oct. 17 letter from the National College Recruiting Association addressed to Coolidge High School student Chris Street for five months.

Street’s mother said Delbridge told her Street wasn’t a good prospect for college.
