Man Robbed After Stopping To Help

From Staff And Wire Reports

A man who offered to help a woman start her car Saturday night was robbed by the woman and another man, Spokane police said.

The 36-year-old victim, whose name was withheld by police, said the woman flagged him down about 9 p.m. as he drove north on Monroe. She asked if he could jump-start her nearby car, and the two started to drive off.

The man said the woman then pulled a knife and demanded money. He stopped his pickup truck and grabbed the knife, cutting his finger, police said.

Moments later, the victim said he was attacked by a man who jumped out of a car. The man also demanded money, and the victim gave the two some cash. The man drove off, and the woman stole the victim’s pickup.

Police found the pickup two hours later near the 2100 block of North Monroe, not far from where the man was robbed. Police said the victim was too drunk to provide useful descriptions of his attackers. , DataTimes
