Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: To lengthen the life of inexpensive shower curtains or liners, put clear tape over the first two or three holes for the hooks on each end of the top of the curtain. Re-punch the holes. I try to remember to do this before putting up a new curtain and the holes don’t tear. Also works to repair torn holes. - Betty Horvath, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio

Dear Heloise: For some reason, we no longer have pillowcases to match the sheets.

It must be the same gremlins that sneak in at night and take one of every pair of socks in the drawer. To solve the constant search for a pillowcase, we tried covering the pillow with a T-shirt. It worked great. - Donald Weber, Springfield, Mo.
