Oklahoma City Wins Naia Title

Compiled From Wire Services

Reggie Garrett scored 30 points and 14th-seeded Oklahoma City (32-6) won its fourth NAIA men’s Division I basketball title by knocking off top seeded Georgetown (Ky.) 86-80 in Monday’s title game.

Georgetown (36-3) was defeated while head coach Jim Reid, the NAIA’s coach of the year, was hospitalized in Lexington, Ky., in serious condition.

Reid watched the game from his hospital room. Georgetown officials have declined to say what illness prevented Reid from making the trip.
