$500 Reward Offered For Trail Vandals

From Staff And Wire Reports

A $500 reward is being offered for information about vandalism to the Centennial Trail and the Falls Park restrooms.

“There isn’t a park (in Post Falls) that hasn’t been vandalized,” said Dave Fair, director of Post Falls Parks and Recreation. Since December, vandals have inflicted more than $17,000 damage to the trail and the restrooms.

Lights and sinks in the restrooms were destroyed and trees and fiberglass light poles along the trail also were damaged.

There also is destruction along the new Coeur d’Alene Parkway - part of the Centennial Trail, said Ranger Jim Richards. That includes graffiti and damage to bathrooms where people build fires.

The reward is being offered by the Centennial Trail Committee, Washington Water Power and the Post Falls Parks and Recreation Department. Anyone with information should contact the police. Any information will be kept confidential.
