Philadelphia Signs Pro Bowler Fryar To Three-Year Deal

Compiled From Wire Services

Free-agent wide receiver Irving Fryar, a three-time Pro Bowl player, agreed to a three-year contract Tuesday with the Philadelphia Eagles. Terms were not disclosed.

“Irving’s been a top-flight receiver in this league for a long time and we’re happy to add him to our offensive mix,” coach Ray Rhodes said.

“He’s maintained the speed and toughness it takes to be a go-to receiver in this league, and he’s going to add a lot of stability and veteran leadership to our young group of receivers.”

Fryar, 33, will enter his 13th NFL season ranked 22nd on the all-time reception list with 562 catches for 8,916 yards and 57 touchdowns.

Police in Irving, Texas, are investigating a case in which Dallas Cowboys star Michael Irvin and former Cowboys player Alfredo Roberts were at a motel when a woman was arrested on drug possession charges, KKDA-AM reported.
