Elekom, Worldcom Reach Software Deal

From Staff And Wire Reports

Elekom, a Bellevue-based subsidiary of Egghead Software, has reached agreement with WorldCom, the international network for Lotus Notes users, to implement Elekom’s principal software product.

The product, called EleTrade, is an electronic procurement system that allows companies to do all their purchasing transactions through a secure computer link.

The agreement allows Elekom customers, formerly connected to AT&T Network Notes, to access the industry’s most mature network for Lotus Notes.

Through WorldCom, an Elekom news release said, businesses can manage project databases, develop an Internet presence, publish on the World Wide Web, access news services and technical forums, and conduct electronic messaging through more than 100 e-mail systems.

“Elekom is excited to make available the EleTrade Solution to customers of the robust and proven WorldCom network,” said Kirk Lockhart, president of Elekom Corp. “WorldCom has done a terrific job of creating and maintaining a strong and loyal customer base.”
