Nau Hires Assistants

Demale Stanley, the Pitt receiver who suffered a broken neck last week in practice, was upgraded from critical to serious condition at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Former University of Houston assistant football coach Steve Staggs will receive $650,000 and a letter of recommendation from the school under a settlement to his “whistleblower” lawsuit.

The university confirmed the amount in a statement. Staggs, 35, filed a lawsuit against the university after being fired shortly after he made allegations of rules violations.
