Nic Board Rejects Tuition Increase

From Staff And Wire Reports

Students will get a break from annual tuition and fee increases next year at North Idaho College.

Rejecting the NIC administration’s request for the maximum increase allowed by law, the NIC board of trustees voted 3-2 Wednesday to hold the line on tuition and fees.

The proposed increase on in-state tuition and fees was to go from $980 per year to $1,034 per year. Administrators argued for the increase, saying it would help shift the burden from taxpayers to students and still maintain NIC’s status as the least expensive school in the region.
