Pianist De Laroccha To Perform

Alicia de Larrocha is one of the truly great 20thcentury pianists. She gave her first public performance at the World’s Fair in Barcelona when she was only 5 and made her orchestral debut at 11. It’s been 15 years since De Larrocha has played in Spokane.

Tonight the 72-year-old Spanish virtuosa returns to perform Schumann’s Piano Concerto with the Spokane Symphony.

Margie May Ott will present a pre-concert talk at 7 p.m.

The Spokane Symphony Orchestra will perform tonight at 8 at the Opera House. Tickets: $12 to $27 at the Symphony ticket office (624-1200) and G&B outlets.
