Media Want Gag Lifted

Compiled From Wire Services

Three newspapers, a television station and a magazine want the gag order lifted in the felony drug case of Dallas Cowboys receiver Michael Irvin.

In an apparently unrelated matter, Irving police said a man is accusing Irvin of assaulting him early Wednesday near a sports bar, according to broadcast reports.

Irvin’s attorney and a prosecutor urged state District Judge Manny Alvarez to maintain the gag order.

Joe Nash, who has played in more games for the Seattle Seahawks than anyone, may have played his last down for the team.

Nash was not invited to the Seahawks minicamp by coach Dennis Erickson last week after Erickson didn’t exercise a clause in his contract to retain him.
