Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: I use raisins for baking and store them in the refrigerator. I have found that the raisins get hard and dry after a short while, despite the plastic cover on the cardboard can.

I have solved that problem by dumping the raisins into a plastic bag as soon as I open the container. Then I put the bag, raisins and all back into the container and apply a twist tie to the bag. I put the plastic cover on. My raisins now are as fresh as when I first opened the box. - Mildred Drummond, Walworth, N.Y. xxxx
