Council To Mull Three Historic Sites Solid-Waste Planning Contract Also On Agenda

The City Council will decide tonight whether to add three buildings to the Spokane Register of Historic Places.

The special designation is being sought for a downtown business, a South Hill home and a Gonzaga University area warehouse. They are:

Transient Hotel, 423 W. First.

Dyar-Kiesling House, 526 E. 12th.

W.P. Fuller & Co. warehouse, 111 E. DeSmet.

The council also will consider a $215,000 contract with engineering firm CH2M Hill to update the city’s long-range solid-waste plan, which looks at such things as population growth, expanded recycling programs and waste reduction.
