Divers Find Bodies In Plane Wreckage

Compiled From Wire Services

Two bodies were found Sunday trapped inside the wreckage of a small plane that crashed into the Pacific Ocean last week, bringing the number of people killed to four.

Divers combing Santa Monica Bay found the mangled Cessna 310 about 60 feet under water, three-quarters of a mile west of Dockweiler State Beach, said sheriff’s Deputy Benita Nichol.

The twin-engine plane crashed Friday night as it approached the Los Angeles International Airport after reporting trouble with its landing gear. Two bodies were pulled from the water that night.

The plane was bound for Los Angeles and had left from Deer Valley, Ariz., near Phoenix.
