Compiled From Wire Services

Two U.S. soldiers in Bosnia were seriously injured early today when a kitchen stove exploded and destroyed a dining tent.

The soldiers, whose identity was withheld pending notification of relatives, will be flown to Germany later today for treatment, the U.S. military said in a statement.

The statement, released at Tuzla Air Base, the headquarters of the U.S. peacekeeping force in Bosnia, said several kitchen burners exploded at the Lukavac base camp, nine miles northwest of Tuzla.

One of the soldiers was seriously burned on his face, hands and arms. The other was burned on the arms and legs, the statement said.

They were to be taken later today to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany.
