Seamanship Courses To Be Offered Free

Free basic power boating, sailing and seamanship courses are being offered at 7 p.m. Monday at the Idaho Fish and Game building.

The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary is offering the courses, which address motoring and sailing theory, seamanship techniques, weather interpretation, legal responsibilities, personal safety for crew and passengers, boat handling, the latest federal boating regulations and other subjects.

The instructors are experienced local sailors and power boat skippers who are USCG Auxiliary trained and certified.

Graduates of the course are eligible for insurance discounts.

The Idaho Fish and Game building is located on Kathleen Avenue between Ramsey and Atlas. For more information call Robert Stevens at 765-2342.
