Man Who Shot At Son, Woman Sent To Prison

A man who shot at his son and his ex-wife’s friend could spend up to 20 years in prison for the crime, a judge ordered Thursday.

But Christopher Tucker, 48, of Coeur d’Alene will be eligible for parole after five years in prison, according to the sentence handed down by Judge James Judd.

“I never fired a gun at anybody in my life,” Tucker insisted at his sentencing hearing Thursday.

But Stacey Dreher, one of the people shot at, said she has no doubt it was Tucker who pulled the trigger.

“He pointed a gun at me another time,” Dreher said. “He said he was going to pistol-whip me.”

In March, a jury convicted Tucker of two counts of aggravated assault and methamphetamine possession.

In July, Dreher and Tucker’s 14-year-old son, Clay, were driving in a car borrowed from Clay’s mother. Clay told the jury that he watched his father get out of a pickup and fire several shots at them.

Christopher Tucker and Clay’s mother were in the middle of a divorce at the time and Tucker had been harassing the family for several months, Dreher said.

Tucker will receive credit for time already served in jail - 310 days.

Dreher said the shooting has been devastating to her life as well as the lives of Clay Tucker and his mother.
