Officers To Honor Fallen Comrades

From Staff And Wire Reports

Police throughout North Idaho and Eastern Washington will honor those officers who have died in the line of duty as part of Peace Officer’s Memorial Day today.

Officers will meet at 10 a.m. at the Idaho State Police District Headquarters at 602 W. Prairie Avenue for a motorcade procession down Ramsey Road and Northwest Boulevard.

The motorcade will end at the Coeur d’Alene City Park for a service at the bandshell.

There will be a roll call reading of fallen Idaho officers, a 21-gun salute by an Idaho State Police rifle team and traditional bagpipe music, among other things.

Idaho has lost 37 officers to violence or on-duty accidents.
