Margarite Weitkamp Gig Harbor, Wash.
Memorial service for Margarite Weitkamp, 96, was May 7 at Peninsula Lutheran Church in Gig Harbor. Burial was at Rockford Cemetery.
Mrs. Weitkamp, a former Rockford and Spokane resident, died May 5. She was born in Lake Creek, Idaho.
She married Albert Weitkamp when she was 17, and they settled in Rockford. They later moved to the Spokane Valley.
Her husband died in 1980. Mrs. Weitkamp moved to Gig Harbor in 1994.
She and her husband were charter members of Hope Lutheran Church in Veradale and she was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Dishman.
Survivors include one son, Don Weitkamp of Seattle; one daughter, Alma Boge of Gig Harbor; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Richard ‘Dick’ Cullison Sandpoint
Service for Richard “Dick” Cullison, 81, will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Coffelt’s Moon Chapel in Sandpoint. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Sandpoint.
Mr. Cullison, who was born in Kansas, died Tuesday.
He grew up and attended school in Chanute, Kan., and went to work for the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1937.
He moved to Sandpoint in 1938 before becoming a farmer in Washington’s Yakima Valley. He returned to the Sandpoint area and settled in Elmira, Idaho, in 1947.
Mr. Cullison worked as a farmer and construction carpenter throughout the Northwest.
He later moved to Sagle, Idaho, and worked for WI Lumber Co. before retiring in 1977.
Mr. Cullison was a member of the Pack River Grange and the Woodworkers International Union.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Bonita; one son, John Cullison of Kennewick; one daughter, Judy Burnett of Libby, Mont.; two sisters, Greta Ladd of Kansas and Lorene Breshears of Missouri; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Beda Christensen Libby, Mont.
Service for Beda M. Christensen, 73, is set for 1 p.m. Friday at Freeze Cemetery in Potlatch, Idaho. Nelson and Vial Funeral Home of Libby is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Christensen, a former North Idaho resident, died last Thursday. She was born in Harvard, Idaho.
She lived in Princeton, Idaho, until she moved to Chelan, Wash., in 1981. She had lived in Libby since 1993.
She married Loyd Christensen in 1953.
Survivors include one son, Alex Christensen of McKean, Pa.; two daughters, Zada Browning of Libby and Sand Budde of Olympia; one brother, Don Christensen, and one sister, Violet Campbell, both of Chelan; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Hazel Proost Spokane
Visitation for Hazel G. Proost, 79, is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Mrs. Proost, who died Tuesday, was born in Northgate, N.D.
She was a homemaker and had lived in Spokane for 50 years.
Her husband, Leon Proost, preceded her in death.
She is survived by one son, Leon Proost, and one daughter, Kathleen Wischmann, both of Spokane; three brothers, Orville Nolting of Wenatchee, Alfred Nolting of Medical Lake and Kenneth Nolting of Chattaroy; three sisters, Maude Folkert of Rochester, Minn., Edna Indridson of Vancouver, British Columbia, and Fern Huttner of Spokane; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mary Caron Rathdrum, Idaho
Memorial service for Mary G. Caron, 71, will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Coeur d’Alene. English Funeral Home of Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Caron, who was born in Maryland, died Wednesday.
She had lived in Minnesota and California before moving to North Idaho 30 years ago.
She served as a registered nurse with the Navy and was commissioned in 1947.
Mrs. Caron was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rathdrum.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Leo; three sons, Leo Caron of Rathdrum, Daniel Caron of Connecticut and John Caron of Onalaska, Wash.; four daughters, Kathleen Ogborn of Virginia, Barbara Caron of Lapwai, Idaho, Suzanne Johnson of Pinehurst, Idaho, and Peggy Harvey of Federal Way, Wash.; two sisters, Barbara Gilmore and Elizabeth Powers, both of New Hampshire; and five grandchildren.
John Braswell Reardan, Wash.
Service for John L. Braswell, 70, will be at 2 p.m. today at the Braswell home in Reardan. Burial will be at the Reardan Cemetery. Strate Funeral Home of Davenport, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Eagle Valley, Ore., Mr. Braswell died Sunday.
He enlisted in the Army when he was 17 and served during World War II. He was discharged in 1947.
He then moved to Spokane with his father and worked in the masonry business.
He retired from bricklaying in 1976 and purchased The Red Rooster, a restaurant in Reardan. He and his wife, Gayle, operated the restaurant until 1990.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years; one daughter, Lajuana Eckley of Mead; two sons, Johnny and Joey Braswell, both of Reardan; one sister, Leanna Du Boise of Durkee, Ore.; three brothers, Allan Braswell of Baker, Ore., Joe Braswell of Hayden, Idaho, and Ed Braswell of Colville, Wash.; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Memorial contributions may be made to the City of Reardan Park Fund for the construction of a barbecue in the city park.
Verdi Sedlacek Spokane
Funeral Mass for Verdi F. Sedlacek, 73, will be at 11 a.m. today at Assumption Catholic Church. Private burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Sedlacek, who died Tuesday, was born in Bremen, Kan.
He served in the merchant marine during World War II.
In 1947 he married Melba True. They moved to Richland, where he worked as a quality control/quality analysis technician at Westinghouse Hanford.
When he retired, they moved to Colville, Wash. He had lived in Spokane for the past two years.
His wife died Jan. 28.
He is survived by two sons, Frank Sedlacek of Veradale and Kurt Sedlacek of Spokane; three daughters, Vicki Manzo of Gig Harbor, Wash., Sandy Palmer of Yakima and Lisa Sedlacek-Marcum of Spokane; one sister, Marjorie Masek of Menlo Park, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.

Jacob Erhardt Spokane
Visitation for Jacob “Jake” Erhardt, 77, is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
Mr. Erhardt, a 66-year Spokane resident, died Monday.
He was born in Almont, N.D.
He retired from a job with the city of Spokane in the early 1980s.
Mr. Erhardt was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 51.
His wife, Adeline Murasky Erhardt, died earlier.
He is survived by two sisters, Anna Williams of Spokane and Monica Bazlan of Sacramento, Calif.
Sister Rose Marie Simoni Spokane
Funeral Mass for Sister Rose Marie (Gemma Mary) Simoni, S.N.J.M., will be at 10:30 a.m. today at the Convent of the Holy Names. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Sister Simoni, 85, died Tuesday. She was born in Switzerland.
Her family moved to the United States shortly after World War I.
She taught elementary school in Montana before she entered the convent 39 years ago. She later taught in Seattle, Uniontown, Wash., and Spokane.
In 1973 she began community service and the prayer apostolate at the Provincial House at the convent.
She is survived by two brothers, Richard Simoni of Butte, Mont., and Otto Simoni of Cardwell, Mont.
Gerald ‘Jerry’ Moore St. Maries
Memorial service for Gerald E. “Jerry” Moore, 67, will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the St. Maries Church of the Nazarene. Yates-Hodge Funeral Home of St. Maries is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Moore, who was born in South Dakota, died Monday.
He attended school in Leola, S.D., and went on to attend North Dakota Industrial College in 1945. He moved to St. Maries in 1946.
He had worked for the Milwaukee Railroad and the St. Maries Lumber Co. and later for B.J. Carney and Carney Products Limited for 39 years before retiring in 1992.
Mr. Moore was a member of the St. Maries School Board and served as a Benewah County commissioner for 12 years.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Lois; four sons, Jerry Moore of St. Maries, Vern and Ron Moore, both of Emida, Idaho, and Gene Moore of Potlatch, Idaho; one daughter, Bonnie Swam of Lewiston; one brother, Milton Moore of Princeton, Idaho; two sisters, Dorothy Blankenship of St. Maries and Beverly Stone of Spokane; 19 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Knut Kjemperud Pendleton, Ore.
Memorial service for Knut H. Kjemperud, 81, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Spokane. Burial will be in Norway. Bishop Funeral Chapel of Pendleton, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Kjemperud, who died May 1, was born in Norway.
He immigrated to Canada in the early 1950s and moved to Spokane in the late 1960s.
In Spokane he owned Knut’s Custom Upholstery for many years until he retired in 1983.
He moved to Pendleton in 1991.
Survivors include one daughter, Turid Pedersen of Norway; two sisters, Rigmor Bentzen of Norway and Dagmar Reuter of Sarasota, Fla.; his companion, Anita Keller of Pendleton; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Richard ‘Red’ Powell St. Maries
Service for Richard B. “Red” Powell, 64, will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Yates-Hodge Funeral Home in St. Maries. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in St. Maries.
Mr. Powell, who was born in California, died Monday.
He grew up in Spokane and St. Maries and graduated from St. Maries High School in 1949.
He served in the Army in 1952 in Korea and returned to St. Maries in 1954 after his military discharge.
Mr. Powell worked for Bell Telephone Co. and was also a timber worker.
He moved to Seattle in 1963 before returning to the timber industry in St. Maries in 1969 as an independent logger. Illness forced him to retire in 1990.
Mr. Powell was divorced.
Survivors include two sons, Rick Powell of St. Maries and Tim Powell of Alaska; two daughters, Jean Dittman of St. Maries and Robin Allen of Santa, Idaho; one brother, Dennis Powell of St. Maries; two sisters, Anita Eadus of St. Maries and Janice Kienbaum of Spokane; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Ute Dinse Coeur d’Alene
Memorial service for Ute Christel Maria Dinse, 59, will be Monday at 5 p.m. at Christ The King Lutheran Church in Coeur d’Alene. Yates Funeral Home of Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Dinse, who was born in Bremerhaven, Germany, died April 29.
She immigrated to the United States in 1959 and settled in Tennessee.
She received a Bachelor of Arts and Science degree from the University of Tennessee in 1982. She became a high school teacher and later an executive secretary for an international corporation.
Mrs. Dinse moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1992.
Survivors include her husband, Dietrich; one son, Dirk Dinse of Coeur d’Alene; two daughters, Birgit Atwood of Nashville, Tenn., and Sabrina Hance of Okanogan, Wash.; one brother; three sisters ; and four grandchildren.

Eunice Halls Athol, Idaho
Service for Eunice E. Halls, 67, was Wednesday at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene. Mrs. Halls, who was born in Minnesota, died Sunday.
She was raised in Minnesota and moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1978.
She moved to Seattle in 1984 and returned to the Coeur d’Alene area in 1991. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Halls was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, in 1993.
Survivors include three sons, Gerald Halls of Minnesota, Timothy Halls of Athol and Thomas Halls of Hayden, Idaho; six daughters, Patricia Carver of Minnesota, Marlene Byers, Janet Byers and Carolyn Byers, all of Wisconsin, Paula Lorenz of Coeur d’Alene and Teresa Halls of Lynnwood, Wash.; nine sisters, Shirley Alsaker, Kathy Seymour, Almeda Alsaker, LaVerle Novak, Winnie Cordon, Lillian Madland and Sharon Pierce, all of Minnesota, Carol Nerlein of North Dakota and Beverly Esprem of Kent, Wash.; 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
