Chinese Confiscating Japanese War Songs Cds

Compiled From Wire Services

Police in southeastern China are confiscating compact discs of Japanese military songs from World War II.

The official Beijing Youth Daily reported Friday that police in Shantou city had spotted the CDs in stores and street-side stalls a few weeks ago.

The CDs feature such songs as “Divine Warriors of the Air” and “Bomb Shenyang,” the northeastern Chinese city, also known as Mukden, where the Japanese army began its 14 year occupation of China.

Police don’t know how the CDs got into China, and some vendors didn’t know what they were selling, the newspaper reported.
