Glenn Magnusson of Sweden won the second stage of the Tour of Italy, which was marred by accidents for the second straight day.

World road champion Abraham Olano of Spain was involved in a 10-rider pile-up 25 miles after the start in Elefsina.

Italy’s Silvio Martinello, who won Saturday’s opening stage, retained the leader’s pink jersey.

The Swede covered the 143 miles along the Corinthian coast to Navpaktos in 6 hours, 39 minutes, 46 seconds.
