Vote Today

Today, Coeur d’Alene School District residents will decide whether to approve construction of a third middle school.

The district is proposing a $9.5 million supplemental levy to relieve that overcrowding. If approved, the school would be built and paid for in two years. A majority of 55 percent is needed for approval.

The owner of a $110,000 home would pay $117 per year in additional property taxes.

Polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at any school in the district, in addition to the Kootenai Medical Center cafeteria and the Kootenai Room of the North Idaho College student union.

There also is a school board election for a trustee to represent Zone 5 (Bryan Elementary, Lakes Middle School and Coeur d’Alene High School).

School board races also are scheduled today in the Lakeland, Boundary County, Post Falls, St. Maries and Wallace school districts.

An election for two school board positions in Kellogg was canceled because Brad Corkill and Debbie Fulton were unopposed.
