Teen Held In Recent Explosions After Authorities Raid Home

From Staff And Wire Reports

Authorities raided a north Spokane home Tuesday night and arrested a teenager who may have been responsible for setting off two bombs about a block away.

Scott Bunch, 18, was arrested after Spokane County sheriff’s deputies and an Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms agent raided the home at 6615 N. Post, Sheriff’s Lt. David Wiyrick said.

Bunch was arrested on a charge of endangering lives and property by using explosives. Components used to make explosives were found at the North Post house, which had sustained damage from a recent explosion, Wiyrick said. More arrests are expected.

This month, sheriff’s deputies investigated two explosions in the 6600 block of North Wall. No one was hurt in either blast.

Last Sunday, residents heard an explosion about 4 a.m. An explosive device had been placed under a car near the gas tank, which didn’t ignite.

On May 15, a man heard an explosion and discovered that a window in his garage had been blown out. A deputy found powder burns and remnants of an explosive device, including pieces of metal. , DataTimes
