Fbi Seeks South Hill Bank Branch Robber

From Staff And Wire Reports

The FBI is looking for a man who robbed a South Hill bank branch Thursday afternoon.

Agent Bob Houston said the man walked into the Washington Trust branch at 31st and Grand about 1 p.m. and handed a teller a note stating he had a gun and wanted cash.

The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of money, which the man stuffed into a gray backpack before fleeing on foot, Houston said.

The suspect is described as either a dark-skinned white or Native American man in his late 20s or early 30s, about 6 feet tall.

He was wearing a camouflage jacket, blue jeans, sunglasses and a baseball cap, and has a star tattoo between the thumb and forefinger of his right hand.

Anyone who has seen the man is asked to call Crime Check at 456-2233, or the FBI at 747-5195.
