Man Dies After Driving Car Off Embankment

A 20-year-old man was killed Wednesday afternoon after he drove off a highway embankment in Benewah County.

Dakota Faraola of Calder, Idaho, was driving north on state Highway 3 about five miles south of St. Maries when he lost control on a curve, authorities said.

He and his passenger, 20-year-old Shawn Newberry of St. Maries, were thrown from the car.

Faraola was flown to a Spokane hospital, where he died. Newberry was treated and released.
