Robert McCoy Spokane
Memorial Mass for Robert Francis McCoy, 80, is set for 11 a.m. today at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. McCoy, who died Saturday, was born in Pinecreek, Idaho.
He served in the Army from 1941 until 1945. After the service he worked for Sunshine Mining Company and retired in 1972.
He lived most of his life in Kellogg, moving to Spokane six years ago.
He was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church in Spokane.
Survivors include his wife, Frankie McCoy; sons, Michael and David McCoy, both of Spokane, and Robert McCoy of Vancouver, Wash.; and four grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
Elsie Misterek Spokane
Memorial service for Elsie Misterek, 92, will be at 7:30 p.m. today at Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall. There will be private inurnment. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Misterek, who was born in Ethan, S.D., died May 23.
She was a 57-year Spokane resident and was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include sons, Wilbert, Wilmer and Clifford Misterek, all of Spokane; daughter, Lorraine Stoner of Livermore, Calif.; stepsons, Norman Misterek of Post Falls and Albert Misterek of Portland; sisters, Minnie Titze and Annie Ware, both of Mitchell, S.D.; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Lily Schiavoni Spokane
Visitation for Lillian M. “Lily” Schiavoni, 84, is scheduled from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home. Service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Private entombment will be at Pines Cemetery.
Mrs. Schiavoni died May 20. She was born in Walsh, Alberta.
She was raised in Yakima and moved to Spokane in 1940 with her family.
She was a 56-year Spokane County resident and was a homemaker.
Her husband of 53 years, Carmen Schiavoni, died in 1985.
Survivors include daughters, Callita Sperlich of Willmar, Minn., Celia Anderson, Janis Winters and Naomi Krauter, all of Spokane, and Mary Ann Rader of Arcanum, Ohio; sisters, Lu Myron of Spokane, Vernie White of Coeur d’Alene and Helene Allen of Medical Lake; brother, Walter “Shorty” Fromm of Marysville, Wash.; 20 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Clifford Basquette Spokane
Visitation for Clifford H. Basquette, 84, is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Basquette, a 15-year Spokane resident, died Sunday. He was born in Seattle.
He was a truck driver for a freighthauling company and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He served in the Canadian army.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Johanna Basquette; daughters Darlene Capato and Joanne Pirtle, both of Spokane; sons Gary Basquette of Seattle and Richard Basquette of Renton, Wash.; brothers Vern Virgil of Seattle and Bob Basket of Texas; 22 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Opal ‘Bonnie’ Tibbetts Spokane
Memorial service for Opal J. “Bonnie” Tibbetts, 68, will be at 3 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home.
Born in Usk, Wash., Mrs. Tibbetts died Monday.
She was a 45-year Spokane resident, and was a homemaker.
She is survived by sons, Michael Tibbetts of Spokane and Roger Tibbetts of Portland; daughters Dianne Pelozzie of Spokane, and Sheila Flohaug and Cindy Bowers, both of Vancouver, Wash.; brothers Cecil Jared of Spokane and Claude Jared of Newport, Wash.; sisters Pearl Town of Usk, Wash., and Myrtle Russell of Townsend, Mont.; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Brenda Cantrell Moscow, Idaho
Memorial service for Brenda Dawn Cantrell, 42, will be held today at 2:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Moscow. Short’s Funeral Chapel in Moscow is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Cantrell, who was born in Ohio, died Monday in an automobile-pedestrian accident.
She lived in Indiana and various cities in the Mid-West and Western United States, graduating from high school in California in 1972. She went on to attend Anderson College in Indiana and the University of California-Cal/Poly. She had lived in Sandpoint before moving to Moscow in 1978, where she owned and operated a book store.
Mrs. Cantrell went to work as a word processing specialist at the University of Idaho’s P.S.E.S. Department in 1985 and was most recently employed there.
Survivors include her husband, Stephen; two stepchildren, Aron and Isaac of Moscow; mother, Donna Debolt of Moscow; sister, Renee Debolt of Moscow; and two brothers, Stephen Debolt of California and Charles Debolt of Michigan.

Herbert Bradley Coeur d’Alene
No funeral service will be held for Herbert Ray Bradley, 54. The family will host a reception on Sunday at 4 p.m. at 2921 Howard St., in Coeur d’Alene. Yates Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Bradley, who was born in St. Maries, died Monday.
He grew up and graduated from high school in St. Maries and served with the Army for three years.
After his military discharge, he moved to California and worked for Sears, Roebuck and Co., for 12 years.
Mr. Bradley returned to Coeur d’Alene in 1975 and worked as a custodian and was employed at The Coeur d’Alene Resort for the last four years.
Survivors include a son, Herbert Bradley Jr., of Oregon; daughter, Rhonda Roque of California; parents, Henry and Willie May Bradley of Coeur d’Alene; two brothers, Jay Bradley of Hayden Lake, Idaho, and Cal Bradley of Coeur d’Alene; sister, Shirley Shaw of Coeur d’Alene; and two grandchildren.
Edward Sibert Calder, Idaho
Service for Edward W. Sibert, 70, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Yates-Hodge Funeral Home in St. Maries. Mr. Sibert, who was born in Colorado, died Wednesday.
He moved to Calder in 1937 and served in the Pacific Theater with the Navy during World War II. He returned to Calder after his military discharge, later moving to Cathlamet, Wash., in 1952.
He worked as a construction worker for Crown-Zee Corp. for 30 years, retiring in 1985. He returned to Calder after his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Emily; two sons, Edward Sibert of Colorado and Robbie Sibert of Calder; two daughters, Judy Byrum and Mary Heagy, both of Cathlamet; two brothers, Ray of Calder and Earl of California; two sisters, Evelyn Conley of St. Maries and Pearl Laing of Vancouver, Wash.; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Harriet (Lee) Miller Newport, Wash.
Rosary Mass for Harriet Josephine (Lee) Miller, 89, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Coeur d’Alene. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene. English Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Miller, who was born in Montana, died Tuesday.
She had lived in Washington briefly in 1907 before moving to Coeur d’Alene, where she lived until 1973.
She recently moved to the Pend O’Reille Pines Nursing Home in Newport.
She had worked as a homemaker and U.S. Postal Clerk and was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church. She was a past member of the Happy Family Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, in 1973.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph Miller Jr. of Spirit Lake and James Miller of Cataldo; six daughters, Mary Guimond and Frances Arnheid, both of Coeur d’Alene, Patsy Wuolle of Cataldo, Idaho, Harriet Lawrence and Clara LeCocq, both of Redmond, Wash., and Kathryn Lake of Priest River, Idaho; 35 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Lester ‘Hoot’ Gibson Spirit Lake, Idaho
At his request, no service will be held for Lester F. “Hoot” Gibson, 84. Yates Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Gibson, who was born in Seattle, died Sunday.
He grew up and graduated from high school in Victor, Mont., later working at the Hamilton Laboratory in Hamilton, Mont.
He returned to Victor and worked as a farmer, before moving to Spirit Lake in 1952. He worked for Kaiser Aluminum, retiring after 22 years.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Leota; four sons, Cary, Lester and Forrest Gibson, all of Spirit Lake, and Arkie Gibson of Post Falls; daughter, Shirley Gibson of Spirit Lake; brother, Albert Gibson of Montana; sister, June Shaffer of Arizona; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Ronald Darling Post Falls
Memorial service for Ronald Eugene Darling, 61, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at New Life Community Church on Hayden Ave. Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Darling, who was born in California, died Saturday.
He was raised in California and moved to Idaho in 1972, where he founded Ronco Fabrications.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Suzanne; son, Rick Lind of England; four daughters, Debbie Bertucci and Rhonda McDonald, both of California, and Debra Buasri and Sondi Lind, both of Post Falls; brother, Bob Darling of California; and eight grandchildren.

Joan ‘Jo’ Chambers Spokane
Memorial service for Joan “Jo” Chambers, 73, is set for 4 p.m. Saturday at Ball and Dodd Funeral HomeNorth.
Born in Ashton, S.D., Mrs. Chambers died on her birthday Monday.
She lived in Spokane for 47 years and worked as cashier in a grocery store and at Valu-Mart, sold American Camp Ground memberships and was a representative of Neighbors of Woodcraft. She was also a bingo caller at the Moose Lodge for three years.
She was a Member of Women of the Moose, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Eagles Lodge No. 2 Auxiliary and the Women’s International Bowling Congress.
Her husband of 16 years, Guy Chambers, died in 1988.
Mrs. Chambers is survived by three daughters, Vana Olson and Vala Rae Van Camp, both of Spokane, and Vara Lyn Conrath of Cheney; a sister, Maxine Manz of Janesville, Wis.; and five grandchildren.

Aaron Christensen Spokane
Memorial service for Aaron Arnold Christensen, 60, will be at 1 p.m. today at Spokane Valley Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Born in Hot Springs, S.D., Mr. Christensen died May 20.
He and his family moved to the Inland Northwest in 1941.
He worked as a paint and body repairman.
He served two years in the Army and four years in the Army Reserve.
Survivors include his wife, Cleo Christensen; daughters, Laura Denney and Ramona Christensen-Russell; brothers, Verne Christensen and Eddie Christensen; and five grandchildren.
George Alexieve Spokane
Service for George M. Alexieve, 74, will be at 4 p.m. today at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North. Entombment will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
Mr. Alexieve, who died Wednesday, was born in Spokane.
He graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, in the European Theater.
He worked for the Bonneville Power Co. and for the Bueller Corp., selling jet boats.
He was involved with hydro-plane racing and had been a crew chief for the Miss Spokane.
He formed the Indian Hills Development Company, developing residential properties off Indian Hills Road, and owned Solar Hydronics Co., a solar energy company. He retired in 1979.
Mr. Alexieve was a member of the Footprinters Association and a former sponsor of the Senior Hockey Team.
Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Mary Alexieve; daughter, Marie Burkhart of Spokane; stepdaughter, Rebecca Peak of Mission Viejo, Calif.; stepsons, James Peak of Tustin, Calif., and John Peak of San Antonio, Texas; two grandsons and one great-granddaughter.

Robert Russell Elk

Mr. Russell, who died Wednesday, was born in Spokane and graduated from Rogers High School.
He worked as a meat cutter for 15 years for Safeway and Rosauers. He later worked at Kaiser Aluminum in Mead, and retired from the quality control department in 1978, after 25 years.
He was a member of the United Steelworkers Local No. 329, Fertile Valley Grange No. 1094, Hillyard High School Association and the Spokane Softball Hall of Fame.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Clara Russell; daughters Barbara Bennett and Beverly Offield, both of Spokane, Betty Weed of Elk, and Debra Stacy of Seattle; sons Robert and Ronald Russell, both of Spokane; brothers William Russell of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., Edward Russell of Medford, Ore., and Charles Russell of Seattle; sister Henrietta Berry of Shady Cove, Ore.; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Mary Brand Spokane

Miss Brand, who died May 23, was born in Rensselaer, Indiana.
She worked for more than 15 years for General Electric at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation, as an office machine operator.
She was a 25-year member of the Father Palmer Braille Service.
There are no surviving family members.
