Singer-Songwriter At The Wine Cellar

Veteran singer-songwriter Michael O’Neill performs at the Wine Cellar in Coeur d’Alene tonight at 8 p.m.

O’Neill originally hailed from Seattle before moving to Los Angeles in 1981 to carve out a career in music.

The acoustic-based folk and roots musician garnered lots of notoriety in the 1980s through his Warner Bros. albums and his tours with U2, Stevie Ray Vaughn and the Grateful Dead. In addition, O’Neill co-wrote songs with several notable bands and musicians, including Dolly Parton, Jeff “Skunk” Baxter, Little Feat and the Everly Brothers.

Here’s what the Seattle Weekly said about his Folklife performance last year: “Nice surprise performance by veteran songwriter Michael O’Neill; his set sparked the audience with smiles as he and his band closed Sunday night.”

O’Neill, who plays guitar, will be joined by harmonica player and bassist Jay Mabin and percussionist Tim Miller.

There is no cover. However, try to arrive early for dinner.
